River otter and porcupine.

This fiber is part of a two ounce challenge for my spinning group.
Spin two ounces on the drop spindle and make something with it.

The good and the not so good...

March..

Still snowing big pretty flakes..

Good: Started a new knitting project.

Not so good:  Funeral clothes.

Good:  Kitty surfing the sun while warming the new
knitting project.

Not so good:  Weekend of flu ..
~Thank goodness for kitty snugs~

Good: Knitting project back on track after..

Not so good:  ripping out FIVE rows (400 stitches each) once
discovering I was knitting on the wrong side.  Kitty
decided to give me a hand while all 400 stitches were off the needles....

I am SO ready for April..

How about you??

Weaving..

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending
a weaving workshop.

It was sponsored our local spinning and weaving guild.

Introduction to weaving on a four harness loom..

Learning new words, calculating, threading, treadling...

Then weaving a pattern..

where this..

Turned into this..

Plain weave and twill.

It was an amazing day

and

FUN!

The amount of talent and knowledge in this body of fine folks
will never cease to amaze me.

My sincere thanks to you all who took the time to
teach us,
mentor us,
encourage us,
laugh with us,
and
share your love of the fiber arts...

I am grateful for you ~

Reading and enjoying
Knitting Yarns: Writers on Knitting by Ann Hood

Knitting up some hand dyed, hand spun merino/silk
LOVE it all the way around ~ dreamy to spin
and wonderful to knit.  The silk makes it super soft
and gives the colors depth.

From the dye pot:

"Scottish Heather"

and

"Jellies" have flown the nest.

Loving "Joette'..

Starting a shawl class at the LYS this week featuring a
design from the shop owner.
Looking foreword to sharing it with you next week!

Have a most wonderful week!
Happy Knitting..

Saturday..

Spinning a bit of hand dyed merino/silk from the LYS..

"Caribbean Sunrise" is fresh from the dye pot...
Just in time for a forecast of significant snow this weekend.

"Dyna".. as in memories of sitting in a shopping cart
as a kid on a hot summers day, backs of the legs sticking to the seat of the shopping cart, while wearing a jumpsuit with bows tied at the shoulders, clutching a pack of DYNAMINTS.

Do they still make those??

Finished the "Turkish Bed Socks" from Churchmouse Yarns and Teas.
This was the only flattering picture of my size TEN foot ..

I love the socks!
Perfect in the Dansko shoes.

Wishing you a most wonderful Saturday!

KNITTING:

Couldn't resist the call of the Zauberball..
Gosh their yarn...

Loving the Turkish Bed Sock Pattern from
Churchmouse Yarns and Teas..

Working on the second sock now.
So happy to say that the first sock actually FITS.
YAY!

Only mentioning this because the last sock I tried (years ago)
could have been used for a golf club cover.

FROM THE DYE POT:

"Rose Cottage"

and

"Desert Solitaire"

have flown off to their new homes.

MAIL CALL:

The gorgeous set of hand carded punis I ordered arrived from
Colorway: "Seaweed"

Holly's work is beautiful and I can't wait to spin them.
Saving them for when the Turkish spindle is free.
