Queen Anne's Lace

Jumped in the car this morning on a mission to find some of this..

Queen Anne's Lace.

I'd forgotten how good it smells.

There was a beautiful wild field of flowers along the road not far from home.

I picked enough Queen Anne's Lace for a natural dye bath.

Then couldn't help to pick
a bouquet for a far away friend who will
only get to enjoy it through a photo.

Colors of summer..

Results of the dye bath soon..
for now the garage smells wonderful!

When is the last time you stopped to enjoy a bit of nature along side of your travels?

Happy Monday!

Morning Glory and Marigolds

The first attempt with the faux rolags didn't work out so well..

So.. back to the drawing board.

These little soldiers did the trick!

Added a few extra soldiers in-between with some bright yellow
and ended up with
"Morning Glory and Marigolds"

Approximately 85 yards of hand dyed merino wool...

..with a bit of blended recycled sari silk..

for some cheerful thick and thin fun!

Gratitude

Hand • made (hand • meyd) adjective Made by hand, rather than by machine

It is with sincere love and gratitude that I share this with you today.

Some of my hand spun, handcrafted yarns.

Created with love.

A little piece of me lives in each strand of fiber.

Every inch passed through my fingers ~ start to finish.

Time to spread my wings and leave the nest.

I am so very grateful.

~ Thank you for sharing this with me ~
